Tata Harrier EV Launched : Tata Harrier EV, which has been in the news for a long time, is finally going to be launched in India today at 2 pm. The company first showed this electric SUV as a concept at the Auto Expo, but now it has come out in its fully production ready form. Before the launch, many of its teasers and test models were also seen, due to which a lot of information about its features and design has already come out.
Strong range and new technology
The biggest feature of Tata Harrier EV is its driving range. This SUV can run more than 600 kilometers on a single charge, which makes it different from the rest of the electric SUVs available in India. It will also get support for DC fast charging, which will allow the battery to be charged in less time.
It will also have V2V (vehicle to vehicle) and V2L (vehicle to load) features, with the help of which you will be able to charge other electronic devices or vehicles from the battery of this vehicle. The company has already said that its torque output will be around 500 Nm.
Two battery options and all-wheel drive
The Harrier EV will be offered in two battery options, one of which can be 75 kWh. It will have two motors – one on the front axle and one on the rear axle, which will make this SUV come with an AWD (all wheel drive) system. This means that this SUV will be able to run easily even on difficult roads.
Some special modes have also been shown in the teaser like rock crawl, snow and sand mode, which makes it look ready for off-roading as well. A boost mode has also been seen in it, which gives more power when needed.
Interior and features
The interior of the Tata Harrier EV will be similar to the current ICE Harrier but some changes have been made in the electric version. It will get a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which will have the facility of wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Along with this, there will be a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, which will have special EV graphics.
Apart from this, it will also get features like transparent mode, 360 degree camera and off-road cruise assist, which make it a technologically advanced SUV.

Platform and design
Harrier EV is built on Tata’s Gen 2 EV architecture, which is an updated version of the OMEGA Arc platform. This is the same basis on which the company’s Curvv EV was also built. For this reason, there are high expectations from its performance and ride quality.
The exterior of the SUV is more modern and futuristic than before. Sharp LED lights, new grille and aerodynamic body will be seen in the design, which will make it a strong presence on the road.
Further planning
After Harrier EV, Tata Motors is also going to introduce the new generation Sierra by the end of this financial year, which will include both ICE and EV versions. Apart from this, Tata is also working fast on the Avinya series, which will be based on JLR’s EMA platform and will target the more premium segment.
