Tata Harrier EV Set to Launch Soon in India – Over 500 Km Range, Dual Motor Setup & More

Tata Harrier EV : Tata Motors is very close to launching its first electric Harrier SUV in India. The vehicle has been spotted testing several times in the last few months, and recently its production version was also introduced at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. This SUV was earlier seen as a concept, but now it looks fully ready, which clearly shows that the company’s EV plan is now progressing rapidly.

Earlier it was reported that the Tata Harrier EV would be launched by the end of the last financial year, but now it seems that we will have to wait a few more weeks. Although the company has not given much information about its technical details, some important things have come to the fore.

Range of more than 500 km

The Tata Harrier EV will be a mid-size electric SUV that can run more than 500 kilometers on a single full charge. This vehicle will come in two versions – with a single motor and a dual motor setup. The dual motor version will have motors on both the front and rear axles, making it an all-wheel drive SUV.

500 Nm of tremendous torque and big battery

This electric SUV will be given a big battery of 75 kWh, which will also support fast charging. Through the dual motor setup, it can give a torque of about 500 Nm, which is considered to be very strong in this segment. Apart from this, the company is also preparing to bring a small battery variant, so that this car will be available in different trims.

New technology and great features

Tata’s new Gen 2 EV platform has been used in Harrier EV, which is an updated version of the earlier OMEGA Arc architecture. This SUV will look similar to the petrol-diesel Harrier, but it will have many advanced features, such as Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging.

Who will compete with?

Tata Harrier EV will compete directly with Mahindra’s XUV.e9, Hyundai’s upcoming Creta Electric and Maruti Suzuki’s eVX to be launched in the festive season. Apart from this, Toyota is also going to bring its Urban Cruiser EV to India by the end of this year.

Conclusion

If you are waiting for a long range, feature-loaded and powerful electric SUV, then Tata Harrier EV can prove to be a great option for you. Now only its official launch date is left to be announced, which is expected to be revealed in the next few months.
