Tata Sierra 2025 SUV

Tata Sierra 2025 SUV : The SUV segment in India is becoming more competitive day by day and Tata Motors also does not want to be left behind in this race. After the launch of Harrier EV, Tata is now eyeing to bring its iconic SUV, Sierra, back on Indian roads. This time this SUV will return in a completely new style, and the most important thing is that it will come in both electric and petrol/diesel options.

Launch timing and planning

The launch time of Tata Sierra has been kept special – it will be launched in the market around Diwali 2025, i.e. between October and November. Its EV version is expected to come first, and a few months after that (in about 3-4 months) its ICE i.e. petrol/diesel version can also reach the showrooms.

This SUV was first showcased by Tata at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo, where it was introduced as a pre-production model. After this, this vehicle has been seen on the roads several times during testing, due to which a lot of its design and features have been guessed.

New design and features

The new Tata Sierra will be completely different from the old Sierra of the 90s. It will look more modern, stylish and premium. Some changes have definitely been made in the exterior – which were shown in the concept version, such as roof rails, unique alloy design and the curve of the B-pillar may not be seen in the production model now.

But if we talk about its interior, then a glimpse of technology is clearly visible here. For the first time, Tata is going to give a three-screen setup in an SUV – which will include a digital instrument cluster, a center touchscreen and a front passenger screen. Each screen will be around 12.3 inches. Such a setup has also been seen in Mahindra XUV.e9, due to which it seems to be becoming a new trend in the segment.

Other special features may include a four-spoke steering wheel, dual-tone dashboard, wireless charging, ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof and Harman’s sound system.

Safety and Technology

The Tata Sierra is also likely to get many advanced safety features. This SUV can take some advanced safety technology from Harrier EV, such as 540° camera view, HD rear view mirror, ADAS Level 2 and 7 airbags. It is clear from this that Tata wants to present this model as a premium and safe SUV.

Engine and battery options

If we talk about the engine, the ICE version of the Tata Sierra can come with a 1.5 liter GDI petrol engine and a 2.0 liter diesel engine, which are already being offered in Harrier and Safari. As a transmission option, both manual and automatic options can be available in it.

At the same time, its EV version will take inspiration from Harrier EV and come with dual-motor AWD system and powerful battery, which will make its range and performance strong.

Seating and segment positioning

The old Sierra was known as a big, powerful SUV with a special 3-door design. But the new Sierra has completely changed. It will now come in 5-seater and 4-seater variants. The 5-seater model will get a regular bench seat, while the 4-seater variant will get captain seats at the rear, which will provide both premium feel and comfort.

In Tata’s SUV lineup, Sierra will be positioned above Curvv and around Harrier. That is, it will emerge as a new option in Tata’s premium SUV segment.

Conclusion

The return of Tata Sierra is not just a new model, but the rebirth of an iconic name. Tata is preparing it according to today’s technology and safety. Its design will be modern, features will be premium and performance will bring newness to every ride. The Indian automobile industry is eagerly waiting for this grand launch of Tata Motors in Diwali 2025.
