Agra was looking much more lively under the clear morning sun on April 23, 2025, when US Vice President JD Vance arrived and touched down at the airport after flying from Jaipur. On arrival, the Vice President and his family were welcomed by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

Scent of Indian Hospitality

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on social media wrote a heartfelt message, portraying Uttar Pradesh as the “sacred heartland of India” and praising its rich culture and spiritual depth. His gesture set order for Vance’s visit, jamming the room with diplomatic regard and evoking the wall.

Cheering Crowds and Festive Streets Agra came alive as the Vances emerged from the airport and into the convoy en route to the Taj Mahal.

Streets were artistically adorned along the convoy route, while hundreds of school children stood at the sidewalks swaying both Indian and American flags. Their shouted words rendered an atmosphere of merry revelry, thus giving a taste of the Indian culture of hospitality.

The wonderful Akshardham temple situated besides the banks of the nearby river Yamuna was one of the first places they visited. JD Vance met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi later at his residence in Delhi.The meeting was however considered favorable for reinforcing relations between the two nations, as the details regarding the conversations held were kept secret.
