Thomson Jio 43 Inch QLED TV Review: Is Jio Tele OS The Future of Smart TV
A Budding Marvel or Just Hype?
Here comes the first-ever game changer in India’s smart TV market. Thomson has introduced the first smart TV with Jio Tele OS”Thomson Jio 43-Inch QLED TV”. At just in cost of INR 18,999 it finds itself in the price category of budget products. Certainly, features are premium. But how about the TV? Let’s find out.
Premium Design at a Low Price
The very first thing that commands attention is the design’s sleek and almost bezel-less. The aesthetics are undeniably very modern and if one considers the feel of a sturdy plastic body one gets that premium feel not so premium price-wise. It comes with two really strong legs made using plastic to stand on a tabletop surface or you can wall mount it. It is sleek and stylish and it will perfectly fit into any decor.
Jio Tele OS: The Smart TV Revolution?
It would be a bold move from Jio now because Jio Tele OS is directly in-built into the TV so forget a set-top box. Now, how does that fare? The interface feels like any other Google TV or Fire TV, or even with PatchWall easy connection for any of our users. But alas: you need a Jio ID login via OTP authentication no guest mode is available either.
The biggest cherry on the cake is 400+ free live TV channels with plenty available across movies, sports, news, and entertainment. Jio App Store is bundled with popular streaming services such as, but not limited to, Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, JioCinema, and SonyLiv. Not Apple TV, for that matter. The OS seems to be performing well as of now however, some occasional crashes were noted.
Brilliant Display but Limited Gaming Features
Not the most generous TV when it comes to features for gaming. While 4K resolution on a 43-inch QLED panel the TV has very crisp images with excellent HDR capabilities and 450 nits brightness. Color pops in their vibrancy; picture clarity is just awesome for daily entertainment. Pretty good at 45-degree viewing angles and with no dedicated gaming mode or alla M low latency makes this an unwary choice for gaming buffs.
Sound Quality: Good But Not the Best
The speakers are 40W stereo gives clear audio with decent sound quality for Dolby Digital Plus but if you want some more theater effects a soundbar would be highly recommended.
Final Verdict: Is It Worth a Price of ₹18,999?
This television is good for anyone who considers money. The Jio Tele OS is the breakthrough feature free channels are a bonus, while the 4K QLED display trumps all. A little glitch here and there in software and average sound make it slightly dull nevertheless, it is among the top few in that budget range.
If you are someone who is searching for a smart TV under ₹20,000, then this is worth checking out.
