Top 10 Two-Wheeler Brands in India – FY25 H1 Sales Report Revealed

India’s Top 10 Two-Wheeler Brands FY25 (H1) : The craze of two-wheelers in India is making new records every year. Whether it is scooters running in the narrow streets of cities or bikes running on long roads, people of every class are riding some brand or the other. In the first half of FY 2025 (April to September 2024), more than 1 crore two-wheelers were sold in the country, which is the largest figure in the last six years. Big brands like Hero, Honda, TVS, Bajaj, Royal Enfield and Ola played an important role in this growth. While some brands broke their old records, some new names made their special place in the market.

Let us now know one by one which brand sold how many bikes in the first half of this year, whose market share was what and which models were the most popular.

1. Hero MotoCorp

In the first half of FY25, Hero MotoCorp retained the crown of India’s largest two-wheeler company with sales of 29.4 lakh units. Its market share was 28.92%. The company’s best-selling bikes include Splendor, HF Deluxe and Passion. Although Hero is still No. 1, Honda has made the competition tough by coming very close to it. There is a difference of only 59,247 units between the two.

2. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI)

Honda secured the second position by selling 28.8 lakh units during this period, which is 31% more than last year. Its market share was 28.34%, which is very close to Hero. Models like Activa, Shine and Dio played a big role in this spectacular growth. The company’s ever-increasing sales keep it in the race for No. 1.

3. TVS Motor Company

TVS sold 17.4 lakh two-wheelers during this time, and achieved a market share of 17%. The company registered a growth of 15% compared to last year. Products like Jupiter scooter, Apache sports bike and iQube electric scooter have contributed significantly to this growth.

4. Bajaj Auto

Bajaj sold 12.1 lakh units and captured 12% market share. Popular models like Pulsar, Platina and Chetak (EV) remained in demand. The company registered an annual growth of 17% during this period, in which exports to foreign markets played a special role.

5. Suzuki Motorcycle India

Suzuki sold 5.16 lakh units and achieved a market share of 5%. The popularity of models like Access 125, Burgman Street and Gixxer gave the company an annual growth of 16%. Suzuki’s hold has strengthened especially in the scooter segment.

6. Royal Enfield

Royal Enfield sold 4.10 lakh units and maintained a 4% market share. The company’s popular bikes like Classic 350, Bullet 350 and Hunter 350 also recorded strong sales during this time, although overall sales declined slightly. Nevertheless, its position in the premium bike segment is still very strong.

7. Yamaha India

Yamaha sold 3.68 lakh units during this period and maintained a market share of 3.6%. The company’s stylish bikes and scooters like FZ, R15 and Fascino attracted the youth a lot. Annual sales also registered a growth of 5%.

8. Ather Energy

Ather has continuously strengthened its hold in the electric scooter segment. In the first half of FY25, the company sold 64,718 units and recorded a market share of 0.6%. Models like Ather 450X and 450S contributed significantly to this growth, taking the company’s annual growth to 30%.

9. Ola Electric

Ola Electric touched a new high in the EV segment by selling more than 1 lakh units in FY25 H1. The company’s market share has now reached above 1%. The popularity of Ola S1 Pro and S1 Air scooters has made it a major player in the EV market.

10. Bajaj Chetak (EV)

Bajaj Chetak has made a strong comeback in the electric two-wheeler segment. More than 50,000 units of Chetak EV were sold during FY25 H1. Although the exact figures are not public, its market share was more than 0.5%. The company has taken steps towards making a permanent mark in the electric segment.
