Toyota Fortuner 2025 Hybrid Launched in India – Price, Features & Mild Hybrid Full Details

Toyota Fortuner 2025 Hybrid

Toyota Fortuner 2025 Hybrid : Toyota has launched a new hybrid version of its famous SUV Fortuner in India. This update was awaited for a long time and now the company has officially launched it in the market. Toyota has named this version ‘Neo Drive’, as it also uses for its other mild hybrid models (such as Glanza and Hyryder).

The new Toyota Fortuner Neo Drive has been priced at Rs 44.72 lakh (ex-showroom). At the same time, its stylish variant Fortuner Legender Neo Drive has been launched at Rs 50.09 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for both these variants have started from today and delivery will be given from the third week of June 2025.

This time Toyota has introduced Fortuner with a mild hybrid system, which has 48V technology. It is available only in models with automatic transmission and 4×4 drive. Customers who buy the non-hybrid version will have to pay around Rs 2 lakh more for this hybrid. However, the technology that is offered for this extra amount is considered to be a bit beneficial.

This 48V system consists of a small electric motor/generator, a DC-DC converter and a small battery. This battery does not charge itself, but is charged by storing energy during driving. The advantage of this is that the start/stop system can be activated, which improves mileage slightly and provides some extra power at low speeds.

The engine is the same old 2.8 litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel that produces 204 bhp of power and 500 Nm of torque. This engine comes with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Although Toyota has not given its official mileage figures, the company claims that this hybrid system provides about 5% better fuel savings, as seen in international markets.

If we talk about looks, not many changes have been made in the car. There is just a small Neo Drive badge in the exterior design which differentiates it from other models. The layout on the inside is the same old one, but the features have definitely been increased a bit.

Toyota has now added a 360 degree camera to the Fortuner which helps in parking the car. But apart from this, no special new feature has been added. People were expecting that at this price, the company could have also given some premium features like rear ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof or advanced driving assist system, but this did not happen.

It is likely that when the next generation model of Fortuner comes, the company will also include these features. At present, Toyota has definitely added a light electric touch to its famous SUV, which opens the way for a full hybrid or electric Fortuner in the coming time.
