Toyota & Suzuki Reveal High-Power Electric Van – Full Specs Inside

Suzuki & Toyota work together to make an electric van affordable that can go 200 kilometers on a single charge.

Suzuki and Toyota are presenting starting from 2025 a high-capacity electric commercial van that is going to revolutionize the electric vehicle segment. It has been on the cards ever since the concept e-Every was showcased as a prototype at the G7 Hiroshima Summit in 2023, expecting to be released later that same calendar year.

There have been unforeseen reasons for the postponement of this launch. Now that Suzuki has provided the official confirmation, it’s just a matter of time before the wait ends!

A new definition of the phrase life brought by a say-in-sentence

Suzuki has for a long time been a player in the small commercial van segment, offering petrol-powered Every commercial vans, in Japan as well as selected international markets such as Pakistan. This type is within the family of the legendary Suzuki Carry, a family well known for reliability and efficiency across generations. This was also the same lineage from which born Maruti Omni was born in India.

Yet while every electric van has an inheritance, this is not just about dressing up an existing model. It all speaks of newness as far as its green technology will be used in commercial utility.

Sleek Yet Practical Design

It is still an electric version of the boxy profile which held true for an ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) vehicle. Key design changes distinguish the two:

The Front Bumper-Mounted Charging Port – A unique and EV-specific feature.

Large Windshield & Flat Front Fascia – More aerodynamics/visibility.

Trapezoidal Headlamps & Prominent Grille – Intended for making a great show on the road.

Second Row Sliding Doors – Total accessibility.

Big Boot Space – Provides much more storage area than the petrol version.

High Calibre Performance and Updated Interiors

With its new internal configurations, the sophisticated interior in the e-Every raises the bar on cabin space and feature richness for a more refined driving experience. While full specifications have not been revealed by Suzuki, insiders have speculated on the following key performance predictions:

Estimated Range: 200 km on a full charge.

The power of the Electric Motor: about 64 PS, almost matching that of its ICE sibling with 660cc turbo-petrol engine.

Comparative Performance – The petrol 660cc NA variant delivers 49 PS, making the EV a much stronger alternative.

Collaboration with Toyota & Daihatsu

The Suzuki Every family now extends beyond just Suzuki. Toyota and Daihatsu too add electric “flavours” to their namesake models:

Toyota Pixis

Daihatsu Hijet.

All three vehicles, then, share a common DNA as they are being developed under the new Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA) platform. Daihatsu will be responsible for development and ensuring that all electric vans create a remarkable performance-efficiency-sustainability balance.

Future of Electric Commercial Van

Electric commercial vans are set to be born afresh with the increase of innovation from Suzuki, Toyota, and Daihatsu. The e-Every electric van is just leading the way in terms of going progressively for more capable, eco-friendly, and compact van options.
