A New Dawn for the Homeless and Tenants in Yamunanagar
As a ray of hope for thousands, the state government on Wednesday approved the second phase of the Chief Minister Urban Housing Scheme under which 2927 residents of Yamunanagar will be given plots for housing. Mayor Pingree launched the program in the year 2023 and it has been hailed as a godsend for people who lived in the city for free along with a family to raise.
Online Booking Now Live — But the Clock is Ticking
The online booking window has been initiated by the Maintenance Department of Housing for All and will be open from its official website with a deadline of July 15, 2025. Those who had already registered in September 2023 have been alerted through SMS on their registered mobile phone number, about their eligibility for and the booking process of the COAP.

Those who are struggling for online booking’s or are not certain of their eligibility can also visit the Municipal Corporation Office,kanhaiya Sahib Chowk, Room No. 15. Here, they can check their names and complete the booking process with officials. It’s an offline solution so that no hardworking family is left behind because of technical limitations.
Not Just Plots—It’s a Step Towards Dignity
Provisional allotment letters will be issued after booking. These letters are a receipt confirming the applicant’s place in line for a permanent plot within the scheme. They will be allotted at four locations in Jagadhri in sectors 22, 23, 24, or 26, through a draw of lots after finalization.—Dipinder Bahri.

From Vision to Reality: The Journey So Far
The scheme was launched by the former CM Manohar Lal through video conferencing from Yamunanagar in 2023 and it caters to urban BPL families having annual family incomes less than ₹1.80 lakh with no dwelling unit of their own. From the original 10,903 applicants, this second wave of 2,927 contributes to the 3,139 families already assigned plots in the first wave.
