Wheat flour, 1 cup
Desi ghee 1/2 cup
Sugar: 3/4 cup to 1 cup (according to taste)
Water: 2.5 cups
Cashews and almonds: 2-3 tablespoons (chopped)
Cardamom powder 1/2 teaspoon
Prepare syrup:
Method to make Aate Halwa :
Put water and sugar in a pan and boil on medium flame. When the sugar dissolves, turn off the gas and add cardamom powder. Roasting the halwa: Heat ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan. Add wheat flour and fry on medium flame till it turns golden brown. It should give off a slight roasted aroma and start changing color. Add syrup
: Now carefully add the prepared syrup to the roasted flour slowly (bubbles may arise; be careful). Keep stirring continuously so that lumps do not form. Thickening the halwa: Cook on low flame for 5-7 minutes till the halwa starts leaving the pan. Garnish: Add chopped cashews and almonds and serve hot.
