Yamaha is quite famous for its FZ series bikes in India, especially in the 150cc segment. Now the company has patented the design of a new Yamaha FZ bike, which suggests that the company may soon launch a new and affordable Hybrid model. This time some different and simple changes are being seen in the design, which make it different from the rest of the models.
How is the new design?
The design shown in the patent of the new model has the turn indicator on the fuel tank, which was not seen in the FZ models till now. Also, there is no heavy styling on the fuel tank and side panels, but it has been kept a bit simple and clean. It seems that this time Yamaha is preparing to introduce a bike with hybrid technology at a low price, which will be strong in terms of performance even without many features.
Will this new hybrid variant be cheap?
This new variant may not have an advanced feature like TFT digital display. Along with this, cosmetic changes like painting on alloy wheels can also be less in this model. It is expected that this new model will be launched with the name ‘FZ Fi Hybrid’ in which ‘S’ variant will not be added. Its possible price can be up to ₹ 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom), which will be ₹ 5,000 to ₹ 10,000 less than the current FZ-S Fi Hybrid.
What is special in FZ-S Fi Hybrid?
FZ-S Fi Hybrid is India’s first 150cc hybrid bike, in which Yamaha’s Blue Core technology has been used. This engine is provided with a smart motor generator and start/stop system, which makes starting smooth and gives better mileage. This bike runs great on highways as well as city roads.
Yamaha’s current FZ range
Right now Yamaha’s FZ range in India can seem quite confusing. The most base model is the FZ-Fi Ver 3.0, which does not have many updates. Next comes the FZ-S Fi Ver 3.0 which is a little stylish. Then comes the FZ-S Fi Ver 4.0 and its premium version Ver 4.0 DLX, which get some cosmetic changes and updates. But the ‘newest new’ models that have come recently, such as the FZ-S Fi and FZ-S Fi Hybrid, have turn indicators on the tank, but their version number is not 4.5.
Conclusion
If Yamaha really brings this new patented design to production, then it can be an affordable hybrid bike of FZ in India. It can become a great option for customers who want performance and mileage but without many features. Its style may be simple, but there will be no compromise in technology. This move of Yamaha can set a new trend in the market.
