Swallowed by a Whale: Kayaker’s Miraculous Escape in Chile
A Brazilian man kayaking with his father was swallowed by a whale and spat into the sea which goes to show that miracles do happen in the deep.

In the unprecedented incident simply something that made everybody from south to north holler out loud Adrian Simancas, from Chile stands in heavy contrast to another of the few living witnesses after a kayak with his father was swallowed by a humpback whale. The very shocking episode was captured on camera, which soon went viral across the internet, declaring it one of the most miraculous survival stories ever this year.
The miracle had just occurred near the lighthouse of San Isidro in southern Patagonia, Chile, near the Magellan Strait. There was 24-year-old adventurer Adrian Simancas who was having a kayak trip with his father Dale, when all of a sudden it started going wrong. The two were getting along just paddling on the blue waters near Bahia El Aguila when suddenly something dark came and cast a shade on the surface. Before Adrian could even predict what could happen he was swallowed up whole, kayak included by the mouth of a big, surface breathing creature the humpback whale.
Swallowed by Nature, Spared by Fate
“For a few seconds my total darkness was horrible,” Adrian said. “I felt something thick and slimy brush across my face. I turned to see a wall of deep blue and white closing in. And then I was under water, thinking, it’s the end.” It was nothing less than a miracle. The whale had spit him out in the water just moments later.

That dark silence was now interrupted by a rush of chaos as Dale watched helplessly from his kayak. Installed on his boat the camera recorded the whole event second by second. The breach of the whale as Adrian was disappearing from view and almost instantly the massive creature spewing out its unintended occupant.

Yes he agreed, very rare are those moments when a person would come up close and personal with one of these marine giants and it happens. Adrian and his father, both shaken but unharmed would gaze at the oceans differently since not as the most beautiful place on earth but as a reminder of the unpredictability of life and its extraordinary miracles from time to time.
