TVS Gears Up for New EV and ICE Launches Based on Market Demand – Strategic Rollout Planned

TVS Motor Company is one of India’s leading two-wheeler manufacturers. The company has recently indicated that it is working on a plan to launch its new electric and petrol vehicles according to the market demand and timing.
Emphasis on electric vehicles
TVS is currently preparing several new electric two-wheelers, which are in the final stages of development. But instead of bringing all of them to the market at once, the company will launch them gradually so that every model can get full commercial benefit. According to senior company officials, these new models can be introduced in the next few months, but it will depend on what kind of demand is created in the market.

Strategic thinking in launch
The report also states that TVS is deliberately delaying the launch of some vehicles, so that by introducing them at the right time, the attention of the customers can be attracted. This strategy is based on the idea that if the timing of the product is right, then its sales can be more.
Focus on both EV and petrol
TVS has also made it clear that it will continue to invest not only in electric but also in petrol engine vehicles. The company plans to start production of EV battery cells in India itself. For this, TVS is working with many other companies.
Big increase in sales
The company’s report for the year 2024–25 shows that TVS has got a revenue of 3,364 crore from EV in this financial year. Total EV sales stood at 2.79 lakh units, which is about 44% more than 1.94 lakh units last year.
Latest figures – Q4 FY25
In the last quarter of the year (January to March), TVS earned 889 crore from EV, which is 54% more than last year. During this period, EV sales also increased to 76,000 units, as against 49,000 units sold in the same period last year.
Great response in rural areas
Last year, for the first time, Diwali season saw more bike and scooter purchases in villages than in urban areas. The company believes that the wedding season in May and June can once again take sales to new heights.
Confidence in exports is also increasing
While the geopolitical situation around the world remains challenging, TVS is optimistic about its exports. The company is getting good demand from countries like Mexico, Colombia and Guatemala.
What’s new?
TVS’s future plans include some special models – including a new concept scooter TVS Vision iQube and a scooter with a new fuel option TVS Jupiter CNG. Although their launch date has not been clarified yet, according to reports, they can enter the market in the coming months.
