53 killed in UP-Bihar due to storm and lightning: Heavy rain in Nandprayag of Chamoli, and traffic was halted on the Badrinath highway; there was a hailstorm in Karnataka

Chamoli District

Amidst the scorching heat, the weather has changed in the northwestern states of the country. Heavy rains and hailstorms occurred in Nandprayag in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Due to this, traffic on the Badrinath highway was halted. In Karnataka also, a hailstorm occurred along with heavy rain late in the evening. A dust storm also occurred in Delhi.

Utter Pradesh

22 people died due to storm and lightning in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. Five students were scorched due to lightning in Moradabad. The condition of two of them is critical.

Bihar

At the same time, 25 people died due to lightning in Bihar on Thursday, while 3 people were badly scorched in Jharkhand.

52 people have died in Bihar in the last 48 hours. Out of these, 31 people have lost their lives due to lightning. 21 people have died due to falling of trees and walls in Nalanda district.

IMD warning for 20 states

The Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted thunderstorms and rain in more than 20 states for the next two days. A heatwave is possible in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. Due to a western disturbance, rain is possible in 16 districts of Rajasthan.

How will the weather be in the next 2 days? According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain in the plains of the northwestern states for the next 2 days. There is a possibility of rain and hail in Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Assam, Arunachal, and Nagaland. There will be rain in many places in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra for the next two days.

At the same time, heatwave-like conditions can develop in some areas of Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. The temperature can cross 40 degrees. There will be no change in the maximum temperature in northwestern India, Gujarat, and Maharashtra for the next 2 days. After that, the temperature can come down by 2-4 degrees for 4 days.
